Bo’ness Garden
On the shores of the River Forth, Bo’ness sits looking North over to Fife and the Ochil Hills.
The clients were seeking to improve their garden, which we carried out in two stages, working with Carolyn Grohmann of Secret Gardens Design.
The driveway was re-built using a gravel retention system and the front garden reconfigured with new turf and planting beds.
The larger part of the work was to the rear garden where a broad set of steps and a large patio were laid with black basalt setts for edging.
A locally quarried sandstone was used to build retaining walls, steel rebar was shaped to form a retaining bed around an existing holly tree and painted trellising from the Garden Trellis Company was placed to provide screening around the patio area.
Our client, a talented craftsman in his spare time, built the steel staircase that leads to the upper floor of their garage. He also built the pizza oven area of the garden which ties in beautifully with the sandstone walling.
If he ever gives up his day job we’d be delighted to have him join our team!
